He highly recommended the Canaan Fir tree because of its many fine characteristics including its growth pattern. The tree is expected to reach 25+ feet in height with growth of about one foot per year. Mayor Mike Compton read an Arbor Day Proclamation at the tree dedication service held Thursday, April 26. Lenier Crawford, head of Pataskala Parks, attended and approved the location of the newest tree in Karr Park. B.J. King, City Administrator, accepted the fir tree from Rotarians Judy Baird, Ginny Evans, Bart Weiler, Alyssa Johnston, and President Angie Sherer.
